Meet the Therapist
Ashley Ottmer MA, LPC, NCC, C-TICP
You matter! We all have a story to tell, one that defines the way in which we view the world and navigate our daily lives. Life isn’t always easy to navigate and SCC wants to ensure you don’t have to navigate it alone. If you feel as though you’re in the dark, I want to sit with you and help you through it. I love what I do and I look forward to the opportunity to serve you and the community. I approach therapy with a balance of empathy, compassion, and straight-forward communication. As a certified trauma-informed care provider, I know how important it is to honor all the aspects of an individual’s experience and you can expect exactly that when you walk into my space. I am also very passionate about taking a whole person approach which means providing you with the option of working with your primary care provider to ensure we are meeting all of your needs. I am a safe space for LGBTQIA++, I am a veteran and happy to serve those who have served or continue to serve today, and I have a passion for trauma work and working with adolescents. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT, meridian tapping), Internal Family Systems, and Brainspotting. I also utilize more traditional approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused techniques. I have experience working with individuals, co-parenting, couples, and groups. No matter what your needs are, I am here for you to support you as your therapist or to recommend another professional who will best meet your needs. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
